Wine production is a growing economic initiative in western Kentucky. “A Sip of Science” will present the combination of agriculture with chemistry necessary in a successful venture. Tom Curtsinger, representing the West Kentucky Winegrowers Association, will be our presenter on Wednesday, April 9 from 11am-12pm in Waller Hall room 112.
While many of us know Mr. Curtsinger in his role as Industrial Maintenance and Safety instructor here at WKCTC, he also grows vines and produces wines on his family farm near Fancy Farm. He is an active member of the West Kentucky Winegrowers Association and chairman of the annual wine competition in our area, a competition which has grown from as few as 60 bottle entries to 224 this past year. The organization is an amateur-based group which promotes vineyard and wine production in our area.
We invite you to learn more about this “tasteful” application of science! (Sorry, no samples will be available.)
