WKCTC and Paducah Human Rights Commission Hosting 5K Run in April to Fight Child Abuse

Paducah, Kentucky (February 23, 2017) – West Kentucky Community and Technical College’s Alpha Epsilon Beta (AEB) and the Paducah Human Rights Commission have once again joined together to sponsor the sixth annual Justice Run to Fight Child Abuse.

The 5K run/walk will be held Saturday, April 15 at 5 p.m. on the WKCTC campus. A one-mile Youth Fun Run/Walk will follow the race at 6 p.m. Awards will be given at 6:30 p.m. All proceeds will go to benefit the Paducah Child Watch Advocacy Center.

“We host this race every April in honor of National Child Abuse Awareness Month, and this will be our sixth race to help fight child abuse,” said Gary Reese, AEB advisor at WKCTC. “Our AEB students have raised over $7,000 for Child Watch; I am so proud of them.”

Preregistration is $25 by April 1 and includes an event t-shirt. Late or race day registration is $30. The Youth Run/Walk is $10 without a t-shirt; $20 with a t-shirt if registered by April 1.  The WKCTC campus will be closed to traffic from 2:30 – 6:30 p.m. Race check-in begins at 3 p.m. in the Anderson Technical Building parking lot. No refunds can be given and entries are non-transferable. No pets, bikes or skates allowed on the campus course.
