WKCTC Partners with Kayser Automotive Services for Pre-Employment Training

WKCTC MEDIA RELEASE: PADUCAH, KY (06/07/2017) Next month, West Kentucky Community and Technical College is partnering with the Kayser Automotive Systems to provide pre-employment training for potential production workers who attend the automotive company's hiring event June 13.
The free hiring event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. the Pontotoc Civic Center at 100 East State in Fulton.
The company is looking for responsible, ready to work and eager production workers to become a part of its manufacturing team. Team members must be self-disciplined, have integrity and a strong understanding of responsibility. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions is required. The position earns $9.25 an hour with scheduled raise increases.
Requirements for the production worker position are to
- have the ability to work basic complex automotive assembly parts,
- have three years prior manufacturing experience,
- be able to multitask and willing to cross train into multiple functions or skills,
- have the ability to lift 25 lbs.,
- and be capable of repetitive bending, kneeling, standing and sitting as required.
WKCTC's pre-employment training will held in July at Fulton County Area Technology Center located next to Fulton County High School. The address is 2720 Moscow Avenue in Hickman.
"While this training does not guarantee employment with Kayser as a production worker, it could definitely increase a potential employee's chances," said Kevin O'Neill, WKCTC interim vice president of Regional Workforce and Economic Development.
More information about WKCTC's pre-employment training will be shared at Kayser's hiring event on June 13.
Hiring event partners also include the Kentucky Career Center and West Kentucky Workforce Investment Board.
