WKCTC Staff Member Re-elected to KCTCS Board of Regents
PADUCAH, KY (09/13/2018) Tammy Thompson, public relations coordinator at West Kentucky Community and Technical College, was recently re-elected as a staff representative to the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) Board of Regents.
"It's an honor to have been re-elected by my staff colleagues across KCTCS to again represent them on the Board of Regents," said Thompson, who has worked at WKCTC since 1993. "The experience I gained during my first three-year term will help me be a stronger leader and better advocate for the staff throughout our system."
A McCracken County resident, Thompson received an associate in science degree in 1989 from Paducah Community College (now known as WKCTC) and a bachelor's degree in radio and television from Murray State University in 1991. She worked at WPSD-TV Local 6 following graduation. Prior to accepting the position as public relations coordinator in 2009, Thompson worked as a television producer/director for the college's television department for 16 years.
Thompson, who also served as the secretary to the KCTCS Board of Regents during her first term, joins other re-elected staff representative Mary B. Kinney, Owensboro Community and Technical College, and faculty representatives Angela Fultz, Maysville Community and Technical College, and Mark A. Wells, Big Sandy Community and Technical College.
The faculty and staff regent-elects will serve three-year terms, which begin October 12, 2018 and continue through October 11, 2021.
