Challenger Learning Center Summer Camps Filling Up

Paducah, Kentucky (June 17, 2016) The Challenger Learning Center (CLC) at Paducah will be offering a variety of summer camps with learning fun for kids of all ages. Early registration is encouraged as camps fill up fast. Preregistration is required.

Each camp is designed for students who will be entering kindergarten through eighth grade in August 2016. All camps will be held at the CLC on the campus of West Kentucky Community and Technical College.

Space Discovery I
June 23, July 11
Space Discovery II
June 24, July 12
Both Camps 9 a.m. 3 p.m.
$30, $35 with lunch
These one-day camps include many hands-on space and science activities centered around stars and constellations. Space Discovery I campers will visit the centers space simulator. Space Discovery II campers will visit the centers Starlab.

Mission to Mars
June 27 29, 8:30 a.m. 3:30 p.m.
4th 7th Grade
$130, $145 with lunch
Be the first humans on Mars! Campers will travel to the Red Planet during a Voyage to Mars mission in our hands-on simulator. After arriving on Mars, they will build a life-size colony where they will live, work and train like real planetary astronauts.

Astrotots Space Chef
July 1, 12:30 2:30 p.m.
Rising Kindergarten 1st Grade
Astronauts get hungry too! Make and try some real astronaut food. Note: possible food allergies including milk, dairy, wheat and nuts. Please complete medical history on registration form so center staff can plan accordingly.

Expedition: Moon
July 14, 8:30 a.m. 3:30 p.m.
Rising 4th 7th Grade
$40, $45 with lunch
Be among the next generation of space travelers to arrive on the Moon! Campers will Return to the Moon as they fly a mission in the hands-on simulator. They will explore just what it takes for astronauts to survive in the Moons desolate environment.

Astrotots Science Lab
July 15, 12:30- 2:30 p.m.
Rising Kindergarten 1st Grade
Measuring, mixing, stirring and observing all skills a scientist uses! Use these skills and many more while conducting experiments with beakers, test tubes and other scientific gadgets.

CSI Camp (Challenger Special Investigator)
July 21-22, 8:30 a.m. 3:30 p.m.
5th 8th Grade
$90, $100 with lunch
Become a Challenger Special Investigator! Read the ransom note and follow the fingerprints, fibers and other clues. Campers will use their powers of observation and conduct scientific tests to help solve the mystery of the missing Mars rocks.
