Deadline to Sign Up for Peru

The deadline for enrolling in the study abroad trip to Peru with a payment plan is Monday, January 23. Students will still be able to sign up after that date without the payment plan, but the cost of the trip increases closer to the departure date.

The study abroad courses are Peruvian Literature and Hispanic Culture: Focus on Peru. Each class will be offered online two weeks prior and two weeks after the trip for pre and post study. Courses begin May 23, 2012 and conclude June 24, 2012. The Peru trip is set for June 11-19, 2012.

Participants can either take the courses for college credit or choose to audit the classes and can earn up to six hours of college credit. Community travelers can join the trip for an enlightening experience with college faculty experienced in their respective fields.

While in Peru, students will visit a variety of historical locations including:

  • Machu Picchu, the Lost City of the Inca
  • Lima, capital of Peru
  • Cuzco, center of the once-powerful Inca Empire
  • Pisac, entrance of the Sacred Valley
  • Ollantaytambo, oldest continuously occupied settlement in the Americas

The cost of the Peru trip is approximately $3,500, which pays for round trip airfare, internal flights, hotel accommodations, breakfast and dinner each day, bus and train transportation, and a 24-hour bilingual tour guide. Sign up now at (tour #1010605).
