Donation From Ulrich Medical Concepts

Ulrich Medical Concepts of Paducah has donated its electronic medical records (EMR) software known as the Team Chart Concept (TCC) to be used in medical classrooms at West Kentucky Community and Technical College (WKCTC).

WKCTCs goal to provide relevant and current healthcare training and education to our community dovetails nicely with our commitment to provide healthcare software and services to the medical community in Western Kentucky and Southern Illinois, said Burton Ulrich, CEO of Ulrich Medical Concepts.

With over 40 medical practices currently using our software and services in the two-state region, the healthcare educational opportunities now available from WKCTC will be of benefit to these practices, their doctors and staff, and most importantly the patients they serve.

Ulrich Medical Concepts' EMR software replaces paper charts. The innovative EMR systems create efficiencies in the workplace, improve workflow, maximize revenue, eliminate duplicate tasks and reduce the overall costs associated with healthcare delivery.

Tammy Potter, Dean of Business and Computer Related Technologies at WKCTC, said the software donation to the college could not have come at a better time.

We are launching a new Associate in Applied Science degree in Medical Information Technology in January, and this donation will afford our students the opportunity to train in industry software, thus increasing their chances of employment upon graduation, Potter said.

The Medical Information Technology degree, one of more than 200 degree, diploma and certificate options available at WKCTC, prepares students through laboratory and classroom experiences to maintain medical files, work with medical insurance and coding, and receive patients in a variety of health care settings. Registration is underway now for spring classes which begin January 10.

Since 1999, Ulrich Medical Concepts has developed, implemented and delivered innovative electronic medical records (EMR) solutions to the ambulatory and correctional healthcare markets.
