Hispanic Heritage CelebrationThe Fourth Annual Hispanic Celebration at West Kentucky Community and Technical College will feature a free luncheon and Grammy Award winning talent September 23. The program begins in the WKCTC Student Center at 12:30 pm with an authentic Mexican lunch prepared by WKCTCs culinary arts students and Chef Patrick Fletcher. Following lunch, Carolyn Perry, WKCTC foreign language coordinator, will lead an informal discussion of the national heritage event.
The Grammy award winning company, Sones de Mexico, will perform Beyond the Music, authentic Mexican folk music, at 2:00 pm in the Clemens Fine Arts Center. The group will present a lecture demonstration that will teach participants about the music of Mexicos major geographical areas and answer questions from the audience. All events are free to the public. The only requirement for the free lunch is an RSVP to Carolyn Perry by Friday, September 17, at 534-3205 or email@example.com .
The program by Sones de Mexico is supported by the Luther Carson Four Rivers Center. A full performances of Sones de Mexico will be at 9:30 am and 11:30 am September 23 at the Carson Center. For information about tickets to that performance contact the Carson Center at 270-443-9932.
