Monday, November 5

  • Holiday Mail for Heroes -- sponsored by Paducah Red Cross
    Student Center, 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
    Stop by the Student Center to make a card to send to military members overseas.

  • Literature Distribution on the Quad
    11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
    Members of the Student Veterans Organization will be handing out literature about the history of Veterans Day and how you can celebrate.

Wednesday, November 7

  • Student Veterans Organization Meeting and Presentation
    Rosenthal 111, 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
    Student Veterans are invited to enjoy free pizza and learn about managing personal finances.
    Academic Success Workshop with Success Coach Chevene Duncan-Herring
    Anderson Technical Building Bistro, 2:00 p.m.- 3 p.m.

    Learn techniques for academic success: taking notes, time management, test preparation, and much more! For Veterans and TAA students the WKCTC Student Body is also encouraged to attend!

Thursday, November 8

  • HUGS Project Collection
    North side of Student Center, 10:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
    The HUGS Project sends care packages to troops deployed in combat zones. For more information and a list of items to contribute, please visit

  • Student Veterans Organization Hot Dog and Chili Sale
    North side of Student Center, 10:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.
    The Student Veteran Organization will be selling chili, hot dogs, chips and sodas. Stop by for lunch in support of a great organization!

  • Faculty/Staff POD Operation S.A.V.E
    Crounse 101, 12 p.m. - 12:50 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. - 2:50 p.m.
    Operation S.A.V.E. teaches the audience the scope and importance of suicide prevention and examines the negative impact of myths and misinformation. Participants learn how to identify a Veteran at risk, how to effectively communicate with a suicidal Veteran, how to gain information to help the Veteran, how to refer a Veteran for evaluation and treatment, and how to identify environmental of care risk factors.

    Challenges Veterans face when returning from combat and what resources
    are available to them.
    NOTE: Some audio/visual aids contain combat action footage.

        Anderson Technical Building, 8:00 a.m. 10:00 a.m.
        Stop by the Veterans Services office for coffee, donuts and discussions on how we assist veterans

Monday, November 12

  • Paducah Veterans Parade
    Downtown Paducah, 11:00 a.m.
    Line the streets with other community members to show appreciation for all veterans.
    Local veterans groups and WKCTC Student Veterans will be in the parade.
