Nurse Pinning Ceremony

Nursing professor congratulates nursing studentMore than 40 nursing students participated in a pinning ceremony at West Kentucky Community and Technical College Friday, December 10. WKCTC offers several career options in nursing including certificate, diploma, and degree options in nurse assistant, licensed practical nurse, and registered nurse.

The pinning ceremony is a time-honored tradition, a symbolic welcome to the new graduates by all other nurses that have been pinned before them. The students have completed their programs and are eligible to attend graduation in May.

Kelly Lanham of Calvert City was given the Nursing Achievement Award and Richard Coleman, Jr., also of Calvert City, received the Nursing Spirit Award. Both students were in the Associate Degree Nursing program. Whitney Bogard of Murray received the practical nursing achievement award; and Keshia Bennett of Hardin was recognized with the nursing spirit award in practical nursing.
