Paducah Native Remembers Local College
Paducah native James E. English IV has left $37,000 to his local community college.
English, who passed away in June 2010, established an insurance policy to benefit
his alma mater, Paducah Junior College. He attended PJC in the early 1960s. PJC, once
an educational institution, is now the recognized foundation of West Kentucky Community
and Technical College.
English was a former employee of WPSD-TV. He graduated from Paducah Tilghman and attended Centre College. He was the owner of United Medical Corporation in Orlando, Florida. His parents were James E. English III and Juanita Peck English.
Mr. English was a generous individual who participated annually in our Gala Scholarship Auction, said Dr. Barbara Veazey, president of WKCTC. He appreciated the education the college provided him and was thoughtful enough to remember the college and his community.
College officials said the unrestricted donation will be used to enhance academic programs.
