Paducah School of Art Student Wins Art CompetitionLee David Trickey of Paducah, a student at the Paducah School of Art, received the First Place Overall Award in the 2010 Easter Seals of West Kentucky Fifth Annual Art Competition. The first place prize was $100. The exhibition, on display at Paducah City Hall, was judged by Lowertown artists Stephanie Graves and Paul Lorenz, and Juanita Gilliam, a teacher at the Art Room. Trickeys piece, Environment 2010, a mixed media work in ceramics and black turkey feathers, was inspired by the BP oil spill.
Lees winning artwork will be on display with the other winning pieces at Maiden Alley for the Heart and Soul Auction on Thursday, September 16. Proceeds of the auction will benefit the Easter Seals art program.
