Reduce, Reuse and Recycle!

West Kentucky Community and Technical College is going GREEN with a pilot recycling program. GPS recycling center on 8th Street in Paducah, KY is open from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM Wednesday thru Friday and has agreed to help initiate the transport of recyclables from WKCTC campus.

The goal for 2009-2010 is to implement paper recycling in all WKCTC buildings! How do we do that? We REDUCE, REUSE and RECYCLE! The Green team will REDUCE paper use by limiting students to the number of printed sheets each semester. They will also encourage faculty and staff to use double sided copying and electronic versions when possible. The Green team will REUSE paper by using scrap paper as scratch paper. Also, they will be providing boxes near desks designated for scrap paper. The Green team will RECYCLE paper by placing a large recycling container near copying machines and office areas as well as near printers in computer labs. We are excited about recent developments in our community for recycling! Please support the Green team and their efforts to make this world a better place!

If you have questions or would like to volunteer please contact a person from the Green team. The Green team leaders are Bobby Lee, David Nickell, Roger Rives, John Carrico and Jennifer Grentzer.
