Sara Watkins Comes to WKCTC on March 5

Sara Watkins, Nickel Creek fiddle player and vocalist, will play at West Kentucky Community and Technical College's Clemens Fine Arts on Friday, March 5, at 7:30 pm. Watkins and her band bring the spirit of the long-running Watkins Family Hour to her audiences with songs that have been tested and tweaked through the years . Other credits include NPRs Prairie Home Companion.

The 28-year-old singer-songwriter and fiddle player spent two decades with Nickel Creek, the Grammy Award-winning acoustic trio. The trio featured her brother Sean along with Chris Thile, now of Punch Brothers.

Saras self-titled solo disc, released in April 2009 and produced by former Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones, showcases Saras vocal and instrumental skills on the fiddle, guitar and ukulele.
