Phi Theta Kappa is holding a Shoebox Challenge for all student organizations on the campus! Phi Theta Kappa will award a $100 prize to the student organization that delivers the highest number of Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes per club member. Operation Christmas Child is an organization sponsored by Samaritans Purse which delivers donated shoeboxes filled with hygiene items, new small toys, new small articles of clothing, etc., along with a Bible Story, to children around the world.
Club presidents must inform Dr. Gericke by Monday, October 21, that their club is participating (email email@example.com) and the number of club participants. Students, if you would like your club to participate, you must make sure your club president informs Dr. Gericke!
Participating clubs are then asked to pack as many boxes as they can, using the OCC guidelines found on the above website or on the campus flyers.
If at all possible, donated boxes should include a suggested $7 donation, to cover
the cost to Samaritans Purse for shipping the box.All boxes from the clubs are to
be collected on Thursday, November 14, by 4:00 p.m. to Dr. Gericke in Rosenthal hall
PTK members will donate their boxes to the other organizations with whom they participate, so PTK will not be eligible to receive the prize!
