Tibetan Monk on Campus
The Religion and Philosophy Club at Hopkinsville Community College is bringing Tibetan
monk Tsering Phuntsok to Kentucky to speak across the state in colleges and other
forums. Phuntsok will discuss Buddhism and his life in the monastery on April 25 from
3:30 pm - 4:30 pm on West Kentucky Community and Technical College's campus at Crounse
Hall, Room 101.
Since entering the Nyingmapa monastery in Bir, India, in 1987 at age 16, Tsering Phuntsok has been a practicing Buddhist monk. For the first 17 years he studied and practiced in the Nyingmapa tradition of Tibetan Buddhism, receiving training in meditation, Buddhist scripture and philosophy, tantric ritual, lama dancing, music, and Buddhist ritual in general.
Everyone is invited to attend Phuntsok's presentation.
