WKCTC Science Seminar to Discuss Human Disease StudyA science seminar titled How Worms Reveal Disease Mysteries will be held at West Kentucky Community and Technical College on October 28. The seminar begins at 2:30 pm in Crounse Hall 101.
Dr. Chris Trzepacz will be the featured speaker. Dr. Trzepacz earned is Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology from the University of Massachusetts and his doctorate degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He is currently an assistant professor of the Department of Biological Sciences at Murray State University.
The seminar will discuss and explore how biological studies may provide novel insight into human infertility, cancer, and neurodegenerative disease. One model being discussed is a free-living worm with a genome that shares over 70% of the genes the human genome harbors.
