WKCTC Alum Makes Impact as Paducah Middle School Teacher

Dylan Howard teaching in classWest Kentucky Community and Technical College (WKCTC) produces talented graduates who go on to achieve great things in their chosen professions. One recent success story is that of Mr. Dylan Howard, a WKCTC graduate who now teaches at Paducah Middle School. Howard is a shining example of the quality education that WKCTC provides, and he is making a real impact on the lives of his students.

Howard earned his associate degree from WKCTC and transferred to Murray State where he earned his bachelor's degree before going on to teach at Paducah Middle School.

As a teacher at Paducah Middle School, Howard draws on his learning experiences at WKCTC to inspire and motivate his students. He has a passion for teaching that shines through in every lesson he delivers, and he is dedicated to helping his students reach their full potential. He is inspired seeing student progress in the classroom. By bringing real-world experience and practical knowledge into the classroom, Howard is helping to prepare his students for success both in middle school, high school and beyond, either in college or in their future careers.

"Something that I learned at WKCTC was the power to empower others. All of these things that WKCTC has, taught me how to build relationships and also empower others through my voice," said Howard.

Howard's success as a teacher can be traced back to the high-quality education, he received at WKCTC. The college's focus on student life, hands-on learning, and practical skills development gave him the tools he needed to succeed in the real world, and he has been able to share that knowledge and experience with his students. WKCTC's commitment to academic excellence and its focus on student progress and career readiness have helped to prepare Howard for a successful career in education, and he is grateful for the opportunities that the college has provided him.

When asked about why he chose West Kentucky, Howard said, "Having a college that was very close to home and also affordable, was really something that I was looking forward to."

WKCTC is a public community college in Paducah, Ky. It is part of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System and was formed by the 2003 consolidation of Paducah Community College and West Kentucky Technical College. WKCTC offers a variety of programs including criminal justice, information technology, business, manufacturing, fine arts and more. WKCTC has a student service center that provides support on FAFSA, career change, academic support, student life, and much more.
