More than 420 Students Attend 4th Annual HOSA Regional Conference at WKCTC

Published on Nov 17, 2025

More than 420 students and advisors from 14 regional schools gathered at West Kentucky Community & Technical College (WKCTC) on Friday, Nov. 14, 2025, for the 4th Annual HOSA Regional Conference, an event designed to introduce future health professionals to a wide range of career pathways.

HOSA–Future Health Professionals is a national organization for students interested in health occupations. The conference opened with a welcome ceremony in the college’s theater before attendees moved to the Health Sciences Building and the Emerging Technology Building for three breakout sessions, where they explored health careers of their choosing. Students later gathered in the gym for a Chick-fil-A lunch followed by an awards ceremony before returning to their schools.

Christy Petitt, dean of Health Sciences, credited the event’s success to extensive planning and strong collaboration across campus.

“The HOSA conference was a tremendous success, earning numerous positive remarks from both students and advisors regarding our hospitality,” Petitt said. “We began planning this event as early as last spring, and it would not have been possible without the exceptional collaboration of our Security team, Maintenance and Operations, Production Coordinator Reid Draper, every Health Sciences faculty member, and our dedicated on-campus volunteers. By bringing students onto our campus, we offer far more than a brief overview — we provide meaningful visibility into what makes our institution truly unique.”
