Sector 4: Workforce Training and Job Readiness

Objective: To prepare unemployed and underemployed individuals for new or better employment through workforce training and participation in business networking and education-focused organizations, promoting lifelong learning, skills enhancement, and expanded business relationships, with a focus on serving under-represented minority populations. Provide intentional workforce training support and minimizing financial barriers for small and diverse business owner's participation in the Regional Area chambers of Commerce.
 
Anticipated Partners: Regional Area Chambers of Commerce; Economic Development Organizations; City Mayors/Managers; County Judge Executives; Purchase Area Development District (PADD); Murray State Small Business Center; Sprocket; Divine Nine Minority Women’s Group; NAACP chapters; Hispanic Community leaders
 
Deliverables: Workforce and Job Readiness Training; Financial support for Chamber memberships; Minority-focused Business Symposium/Conference; Office or incubation space provided at Emerging Technology Center
 
Impact: Increases workforce program enrollment and revenue; expands employment opportunities for participants; grows skilled regional workforce; helps reach under-represented minority (URM) service goals
