Circulation Policies

Students currently enrolled in WKCTC classes in Paducah, students enrolled in institutions who belong to Federation of Kentucky Academic Libraries (FoKAL), PJC Board Members, WKCTC Board of Directors, WKCTC employees, and retired faculty and staff will be issued a free library card and have full circulation privileges upon showing proof or identification. Community patrons who present proof that they live or work in McCracken County, or they are Work and Learn (WAL), Ready to Work (RTW), or Adult Education (Adult Ed) students may also obtain a free library card.

Library Cards

To receive a library card, faculty, staff, and students can get a campus ID card made at the Business Office in Room 127 at Anderson Technical Building.  Your ID card functions as your library card.

If you do not have time to get your ID card made, present a picture identification at the Circulation Desk and the library staff will make you a library card.

Other patrons as listed above may present a photo ID to obtain a library card.

A library card (for students, a campus identification card) is necessary to check out materials.

Overdue notices are sent as a courtesy.  It is the responsibility of the patron to return materials in a timely manner or to renew those materials, keeping the status of loaned materials up to date.  Students not returning materials by the end of the semester will be billed for those materials and a PeopleSoft hold will be added to their account which will not allow them to register or receive or send transcripts until their library obligations have been satisfactorily met.

Faculty or staff may place materials on reserve for the use of their students or for other academic purposes. Materials to be placed on reserve should be given to the User Services staff specifying employee’s name, class or academic information, and checkout period. All reserve materials should be left at the library 24 hours prior to the date needed. Instructors placing materials on reserve are responsible for compliance with copyright laws.
