GED Tests
West Kentucky Community and Technical College is a Pearson Vue Testing Site for the official GED exam! Exams are offered Monday through Friday except for holidays and institutional closings.
Test Information
The GED test is a computer-based test administered in four sections. These tests can be taken individually or can be taken in any combination of. All candidates must present a current, government-issued photo ID to test. The test can be taken in English or Spanish. Four content areas:
- Reasoning Through Language Arts (RLA) – 155 minutes
- Mathematical Reasoning – 120 minutes
- Science – 95 minutes
- Social Studies – 75 minutes
A score of 145 or above on each section is required to pass the examination.
Eligibility
To take the GED exam in Kentucky, you must:
- Be a Kentucky resident.
- Pass the GED READY (Practice) Test
- Be at least 19 years of age; or
- Be 18 years old and withdrawn from school at least 90 days; or,
- Be 18 years old and withdrawn from school with a signed waiver from the Director of Pupil Personnel from the Board of Education in the county you reside.
