Weather Alert • February 18 – 21

Due to projected inclement weather, WKCTC will transition to remote operations starting Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 3 PM, through Friday, February 21, 2025.

Faculty and staff will be working remotely, and students are expected to engage in remote learning as outlined in their syllabi.

All WKCTC campus locations will be closed.

GED Tests

West Kentucky Community and Technical College is a Pearson Vue Testing Site for the official GED exam! Exams are offered Monday through Friday except for holidays and institutional closings.

Test Information

The GED test is a computer-based test administered in four sections. These tests can be taken individually or can be taken in any combination of. All candidates must present a current, government-issued photo ID to test. The test can be taken in English or Spanish. Four content areas:

  • Reasoning Through Language Arts (RLA) – 155 minutes
  • Mathematical Reasoning – 120 minutes
  • Science – 95 minutes
  • Social Studies – 75 minutes

A score of 145 or above on each section is required to pass the examination.

Eligibility

To take the GED exam in Kentucky, you must:

  • Be a Kentucky resident.
  • Pass the GED READY (Practice) Test
  • Be at least 19 years of age; or
    • Be 18 years old and withdrawn from school at least 90 days; or,
    • Be 18 years old and withdrawn from school with a signed waiver from the Director of Pupil Personnel from the Board of Education in the county you reside.
